The thing about addictions is they make it easier for you to work out what to do with your spare time. For example, if you are a smoking addict, and you find you have a few spare minutes then you have a cigarette. If you are an alcoholic then you spend your afternoon off then you spend it inventing cocktails until you run out of ingredients and start eyeing up the meths.

Basically they are a time saving system for easy decisions making.

I hadn't properly thought about the dependancy thing. Or about addiction as an illness. I'm not sure if addiciton is an illness or not, coz the things you get addicted to you choose whether to do/take/have in the first place. I wonder if describing it as an illness is something that gets done by people with an addiction so they can avoid any responsibilty being taken for it.

Bruv, keep blogging things that make me think, I like blogs like that. Also please blog funny things coz I like to laugh.

Hmmmmm................
interesting question.......
i think i agree with ruth about it taking priority but i don't know about the sin bit.....
hmmmm
on the one hand, if you can't live without the thing your addicted to then that mean your dependancy is no longer on God but on that thing so in that sense i guess it is a sin but on the other hand, (and though it may seem a bit extreme to put it like this) it's an illness and in that aspect it is not a sin. Hmmmmmm...good question.

You're gonna love ur bday present i've got you...though i wouldn't flash it around camp too much...i'm so proud of myself (woops, pride is a sin...pants) i just hope no one else is gonna get it for you....Right, no body buy......oh wait....no.
Anyway. You'll love it. Seriously though...nobody better get it or u bettr not already have it. I'll b so cross.

Oh and do keep blogging...it gives me something to read on a dull day. And if you stop, hayley wont blogg and i'll just get bored.

Hmm... I don't think either of you are up poo creek. Maybe one of its tributaries, but you've got Jesus in the boat with you, and I reckon he could turn sewage into wine if he tried...

[dread] <- that's my insulting word inserted. I'm so down wid da kids.

I don't know that addiction is a sin, because you can be addicted to good things as well as harmful things. Maybe if the addiction is harmful to your body, or damaging to your relationship with God, or the thing your addicted to takes a higher priority in your life than God then maybe it is sin. I think what I'm trying to say is that addiction in itself its not definately sinful, but that the results of addiction is. I'm not sure that makes sense, or that I agree with what I've said, I'm still mulling it over.

Happy Birthday. I say that now in case I forget as I shall be away myself on the actual date itself. Oh and wait another 4 years and have those things still equally applicable in your life - then you'll feel even more up poo creek!!
