For example, if you are a smoking addict, and you find you have a few spare minutes then you have a cigarette. If you are an alcoholic then you spend your afternoon off then you spend it inventing cocktails until you run out of ingredients and start eyeing up the meths. Or about addiction as an illness. I'm not sure if addiciton is an illness or not, coz the things you get addicted to you choose whether to do/take/have in the first place. I wonder if describing it as an illness is something that gets done by people with an addiction so they can avoid any responsibilty being taken for it.
