Fascination

Sorry for the lack of posts recently from me, it’s been a really busy few weeks (although aren’t they all!) as I’ve had assignments due and journals as always to be doing. As of Monday morning the first of my assignments of the term was handed in, it was on subcultures and mission is the short version of explaining what it was about and next Tuesday I’ve got the second assignment due in and that is on Ethics, which is absolutely tons of fun (whoa sarcasm overload)

But anyway, that’s not what I’m posting about because that first bit was probably really boring for you, if you enjoyed it great, but don’t worry if you didn’t, I wasn’t expecting you to!

I’m not really fully sure what I want to blog about today, I’m mostly blogging now because I actually finally can for the first time in like two weeks and so this post may be rather ADHD (well because I am) and a bit all over the place and just rather random thoughts that I am having…hope you can keep up

Recently I have started loving watching a show on MTV called ‘Run’s House’, it’s a show about Reverend Run from Run DMC and his family and their lives. I know it’s cheesy and probably not cool to like it but anyways I love it. It’s hilarious and Run is a real legend! I usually watch it for a bit of a laugh whilst I have my dinner but last night when I watched it, I didn’t laugh. It was an episode where Run and hs wife’s baby dies just after she is born and it was really emotional and I’m not ashamed to say I cried watching it. Run and his missus are Chrispys and listening to him talk about God on that episode in the light of their loss was pretty amazing and watching him pray with his family in the hospital room was dam emotional

There are two new songs (they’re reasonably new to me, if you heard them ages ago, congratulations you are the coolest person alive, I hope you’re happy) that I am loving at the moment. First is a song called ‘Fascination’ by a Danish band called Alphabeat, it’s so good! Had a right laugh on Monday morning at college having a sing and a boogie with my mate’s Stanyer and the Cat (Watson you know that’s you!). I really like it because of the irony of me liking it…it’s weirdly funny that a depressed really insecure guy singing long and doing the Mark dance (he knows what it is) to an upbeat 80’s sounding fun tune! Second song is called ‘Misery Business’ by a band called Paramore, I really love this tune and also they have done a really nice cover of ‘My Hero’ by Foo Fighters and added to this, me and my mate Ryan were chatting about them in Starbucks on Tuesday morning and he told me that Paramore are Chrispys which is wicked and he then told me that he was going to marry the lead singer (she is a girl by the way! and quite hot too!). Unfortunately, (well wait and see) Ryan probably won’t be marrying her but the bit about them being Christians is true!

Also, finally, a question that I have been thinking about recently is one for you to think about too. If you were to fail at what you are doing (so like fail or drop out of uni or school or lose your job or whatever) who would still be there for you?

  1. You and the other brothers, the pa, I can think of three other friends that would definately be there, and others that would say well meaning things.

Oh and get you and your famous crispy lovingness!

Loving Alphabeat. I’m intrigued it’s not in Eurovision - would surely be a winner…
Anywho, Paramore are awesome. If you go on their main site, you can check out the whole album! I plan to buy it when I can justify the money.

I’d like to think you and Bex would still be there for me… though I would never see you since all our meetings are Uni based, and the parents obv, and my mates in colchester.
Grandparents though…. they don’t think i’m doing a ‘proper job’ or ‘proper degree’ anywho, so they’d probably be quite happy!
