Boredom

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

So, as I sit in the info-bar (my alternative placement) waiting for young people to actually come in, I thought at Leanne’s request I would post…

Sizewell last weekend was brilliant! Some highlights were playing the bestest game called ‘the floors made of lava’ with Phil Brown, joking with the director of Urban Saints that he wasn’t really urban enough to run it, having fun with the young people and really amazing was one of the lads in my group became a Christian when he got home on the sunday night! Whoop!

Having a swim!

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

So, I’m sorry I lied, one more post before I go to Sizewell!

I’ve just got back from going swimming with Phil Brown at the wonderful Crown Pools!

We are going to try and make it a regular occurrence…mostly because we had such a laugh!

Some good quotes and behaviour from Phil:

  • [as he entered the 'leisure' pool] “Man! The water’s boiling I reckon you could catch HIV in it!”
  • Phil standing by the ’seal fountain’ and drinking from the water coming out!
  • “Man! With these tash’s we look like proper paediatricians! Or least some kind of doctor!”
  • [as the wave machine came on] “I wanna spend all day in here one day…do you reckon I could?”

No News is News News

Off to Sizewell today for the February 11 to 14’s residential weekend that CYM put on and so there won’t be any posts until Monday…

In other news, I have just bought Lily Allen’s album ‘Alright, Still‘ and its really good, I really like especially the new single ‘Alfie‘…she seems to have the wonderful ability to sing really cruel and nasty lyrics but in such a way that they sound beautiful…I wouldn’t be surprised if she could call me any word under the sun and I’d think it was a compliment!

Also, breaking news is that CYM’s website is FINALLY back up and running and my ugly mug is on it…click here to have a ganders at it

Yes? Yes!

BULLET POINT: Sorry Paul

Back up to speed

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Yo Yo Yo! I’m sorry for the lack of posts (it might just be you Paul who cares) but I’ve been really busy and when I’ve been free I’ve had the writers block!

So, anyway, I’m here again so don’t be afraid!

Lots of interesting things have been done and happened since I last spoke to you all!

  • Went to see Hayley! Whoop! Met all her friends (some weirder than others)
  • With Hayley, watched ‘The Mighty Boosh - Live’, I think it’s brilliant so you should watch it too!
  • Again, with Hayley (will she leave me alone I hear you cry!) went to the beautiful city of Liverpool. I expected it to be a real dump but it is infact a really nice place!
  • Whilst in Liverpool, went to The Cavern, the famous gig venue that the Beatles played at, we had a drink in there, I went on stage and mimed along to the Beatles music playing and so now I can kinda say that I have performed at The Cavern! Also in Liverpool I sat on the ‘Eleanor Rigby’ memorial bench and me and Hayley went round The Beatles museum which is amazing and for just 7 quid for students is a bargain! (Photos should be online soon!)
  • Almost won the pub quiz for the first time with the line-up of Me, Kev and Hannah! It’s Retro and it’s for life!
  • Had Valentines Day on Friday with the beautiful Rach which was really cool
  • Watched The Last Kiss with Rach and whilst you hate all the characters because they do such stupid things, I really liked it.
  • Went to see Hot Fuzz on Sunday night with Phil Brown and Kev, its incredible! Hilarious! I would describe all about it but I think you should just go and see it!
  • Whilst at college on Monday night, we sang the song ‘How Great Thou Art’ and I remembered how much I loved that song and how much I truly love God

Think that brings everyone back up to speed…if I missed anything out, I’m sorry.

Daffodil Supernova a.k.a Mission Week!

Monday, February 19th, 2007

So… it’s the 19th Feb and Chester CU mission week has started! Hurrah! Im soooo excited about this week, I know that God is going to do amazing things on campus through all the different activities that the CU has planned!

We need to recognise the importance of evangelism so much more in our everday lives. If we are really livingĀ a life for Christ and if he really does make the huge difference in our livesĀ that we as christains proclaim that he does, then why aren’t we doing more to share him with everyone that we meet??? God’s an awesome, supreme, incredible God, and everyone needs to know that!

The return of Hayles!!

Saturday, February 3rd, 2007

okay…im here! I’m alive, the rapture hasn’t happened…not sure it ever will…o yer im getting all eschataological on you! he he! no excuses but hayley has been stressed with exams, essays, and partying to celebrate the end of both these things! but there is a reason why im posting… i want to tell you about an adventure that myself and miss emily warren had on wednesday…

There once were 2 young ladies who lived in the beatiful city of Chester. One of these young ladies was a ginger southener and the other a blonde northerner! they were random and decided one day that they would turn there hands to the wild and dangerous world of ice cream making. They started off on the dangerous journey to aldi, on the way the were nearly kidnapped by a guy in a van who was convinced he knew them and then due to emilys excitment they were nearly run over and the debated on whether they would get run over if they laid down in the middle of the road. They made it to there destination and brought all the ingredients plus some which they didnt need… i.e gerkins!

The great ice cream started to be made. it consisted of baileys, pieces of pancake, piece of chocolate and a little bit of honey. To cut a long story short… the ice cream was amazing… it was the best thing ever and beat nathans apple pie with a large large metal bible!!!!
