Phil [hearts] Kev

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

This week saw the biggest signing of the transfer window!

Kev has been signed to Phil Brown’s “faction”/”website” as a featured blogger…Phil [hearts] Kev begins!

Will this Kev/Phil alliance last?

We’ll have to wait and see I guess…

BULLET POINT- by the way…has anyone else noticed how Hayley hasn’t blogged in almost a month? Hayley vs. Gareth is becoming a bit one sided!

Smokin’ Aces

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

First off, must apologise for lack of posts (however, compared to Hayley, I post all the time!)

At the weekend just gone I went up to Coventry to see Rach for the weekend and on Saturday afternoon we decided to go to the cinema…we had a look around on what was on and decided to see Smokin’ Aces.

After a brilliant trailer and a cast that impressed me, I was hoping for a fun but good movie…

Well…I was disappointed.

The movie had a good idea and premise…A hit on a Vegas entertainer who is in with the mob and lots of different people trying to kill him…sounded fun…

However although the cast is very strong…the script just isn’t there…you don’t really ever care (either good or bad feelings) about any of the characters and the killing and violence is sometimes for no reason at all.

Overall it was enjoyable and will be worth watching on DVD but truth be told, it’ll never be considered ‘great’ by any stretch of the imagination!

Shev

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Last night, as I sat in the Golf watching the Chelsea vs. Wycombe game waiting for Kev to arrive, I overheard a statement that made me almost laugh out loud…a guy standing at the bar watching Andriy Shevchenko play said and I quote “He’s shit…he’s the worst player Chelsea have ever had!”

Made me crack up! Let’s have a look at a ‘few’ players that Chelsea have bought who were worse…

  • Winston Bogarde
  • Albert Ferrer
  • Frode Grodas
  • Frank Sinclair
  • Andy Myers
  • Gavin Peacock
  • Paul Furlong
  • George Weah
  • Pierluigi Casiraghi
  • Bjarne Goldbaek
  • Robert Fleck
  • Jiri Jarosik
  • Slavisa Jokanovic
  • Bernard Lambourde
  • Adrian Mutu
  • Emerson Thome

The list could continue!

This is why idiots who nothing about football should keep their thoughts to themselves…especially since within two minutes of his statement, Shevchenko scored and then scored again later in the game!

Potty-mouth Bill

Friday, January 19th, 2007

On Microsoft Word I did a little test of their dictionary to see how much of a potty mouth Bill Gates has…

I typed in random swear words into Word and saw which ones are in their dictionary…

the S word is…

so is the C word (but not the really bad C word)…

the F words there…

but the laughable thing is that willy and poo aren’t!

Bill Gates wants me to tell people to F off but not to say willy or poo! What a bad man!

A rather rhetorical question

Friday, January 19th, 2007

Why are most theology books mostly filled with “theologians” basically arguing about who of them has the bigger willy? They spend all their time just saying which other theologians they like or dislike and bigging themselves up!

My question with rhetorical tendencies is why don’t people spend more time writing books about people can live out ‘Love God, Love others’ the best they can?

I say put the arguments and the b*llocks aside for a bit and help people live and love God?

O Canada?

Just when you think you know someone they shock you with a piece of their past that you don’t believe…

Just found Phil Green’s wikipedia page…and well…I wish he’d of told ME!

I never knew that as wikipedia tells me, Phil ran as a candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada in the riding of Mississauga South in both the 2004 federal election and 2006 federal election.

Some people always shock you don’t they!

Honey to the Bee

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

For all of you who don’t listen to the dreadful radio show that is The Chris Moyles Show…due to the new change in chart laws regarding downloads (basically any song downloaded legally can enter the charts) Chris has decided to try and get ‘Honey to the Bee‘ by the wonderful Rose Billie Piper back into the charts!

I don’t about you but I have a feeling he may just pull it off!

Either listen (if you’ve got nothing else to do) on Sunday to find out if she made it! Or if you have a live just wait till Monday to check!

Confidence

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

As I played football with the Colchester Rd Baptist lot last night I started to think and came to realise that confidence is one of the most important things in life…

I know that sounds quite stupid but when you think about it as I did you realise that it is…

You see, as I was playing footy when it came to hitting the target and scoring with my shots, I don’t think it was as much about my skill level getting better or worse but it was a lot to do with confidence on whether or not I hit the target and scored…

I think the same is with premiership footballers, John (that’s Pinder not The Baptist) always moans about how someone paid so much money can miss but take Shevchenko at Chelsea for example…I think he is an amazingly talented footballer and clinical finisher but has really struggled to score at Chelsea. I don’t think this is to with him losing his skill or ability but it is because he is in a new country and a new club with a lot to prove and a 30 million quid price tag to justify…add to that that the manager openly doesn’t rate him and doesn’t want him…now if that was me, I’m not sure I would have enough confidence to score!

What do people think? Are you more able to achieve or do something if you have the confidence to do it?

Captioning is good

Friday, January 12th, 2007

Hayley just managed to beat me to the punch with her caption competition but even though she did here is another fun photo for you all to do captioning for!

Winner gets a really really good prize!

Here’s your photo…

I’m back

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Hey!

After a bit of a break (maybe a hiatus…I like that word) I’m back and blogging!

The first question to answer is why such a break?

For five days last week, I went to a place called Fareham (in between Portsmouth and Southampton) with Rach to see her Dad and his missus.

We went down last Wednesday on a National Express coach and I was so nervous the whole way there! But luckily for me, I got on with Rach’s Dad really well and fun time was had by all!

Highlights were…

  • Obviously spending time with my wicked girlfriend
  • But also growing to tolerate then like Andy’s (Rach’s dad) two dogs
  • Also going to Portsmouth quays which is quite a swish and done up area and hanging out there and also going up a thing called Spinnaker Tower which has the largest glass floor in Europe on the first floor up (which is very very high!) and I was petrified like you wouldn’t believe…I just kept thinking about Bond villains who have such things and then expecting the glass to disappear any minute!
  • Getting a nice new hoodie and a cool Vans t-shirt
  • Watching Inside Man with Rach
  • Getting hooked on watching Scrubs and Deal or No Deal!
