Living for the weekend [part 1]
This last weekend was the bomb…the best weekend that I have had in ages!
The incredibly gorgeous Rach (sorry if you don’t think so…but you’re wrong) came to stay in the greatest spare room in the world round mine.
BULLET POINT - This is the first of two or three (depending on how much I want to write) posts about this past weekend.
On Friday, eight (the cafe that I run for CYM) ended and then myself and the enigmatic Phil Brown got our glad rags on (or a shirt, jeans and shoes in English) and went and met the Ginger one (who was also down for the end of the week! had missed her loads! Go SIS! Woo!), Kev (Woo!), Paul (Woo!) and Miss Bruce (that’s Rach by the way) in the fine establishment that is The Lloyds Tavern.
After a beverage of the alcoholic persuasion, we headed to that wonderful place known as Liquid nightclub! (BULLET POINT - Liquid was Hayley’s idea, so don’t diss me for choice of club)
The walk to Liquid was enjoyable as it was absolutely peeing it down and so we got quite drenched…
Then, we arrived at Liquid only to remember that Paul had trainers on and so couldn’t get into the club…how rubbish is that?! Paul’s dancing is something to behold and I was gutted to miss out on his fine company
So, saddened with a man down, we entered into Liquid, I felt quite young and that when the bouncer guy asked me for I.D and was almost flattered by the compliment that he thought I was under 18…that was until I realised that they now I.D everyone which kind of put a damper on that!
We went up the stairs (the newly carpeted stairs since re-decoration) and paid our £5 entry (WHAT?! A FIVER?! I KNOW!) and strolled into the main part of the all newly decorated Liquid
I went to the bar (I was the only one of 5 drinking, how bad did I feel? Actually not much) and got myself a bottle of Becks and then was stunned when the bar man asked me for £3.40 for the privilege! OUTRAGEOUS! I must have said “What?” about five times before giving him the casheesh
We then stood looking “cool” just off the dancefloor and laughed as Phil Brown pointed out how rubbish the girls’ bunny outfits were…I think exact words may have been “Rabbits are meant to be covered in fur” or “Their costumes don’t fit right” and then laughed more when Kev referred to it as a poor stage production of ‘Watership Down’!
So, we then boogied the night away and had tons of fun dancing to lots of good tunes…especially the ol’ ‘Gold Digger’ and ‘Sexy Back’…we did miss Paul’s magnificent moves though!
Two highlights for me were firstly, going to the bar with Kev and watching a few of his drunken tesco staff coming up to him in quite revealing outfits and watching Kev work his charm and secondly, when a guy on the dancefloor made some eyes at Rach and I politely told him to keep on walking away, was quite a hoot!
That was a brief run down of what happened on Friday night…I could tell you every little detail but if you want that then come out with us next time!
