Fireworks

On Saturday, myself and the Hollywood Hartwell (haven’t called Kev that in ages) went to the best park in the world that is Christchurch Park to see the fireworks.

Me and Kev first excelled at getting ourselves from The Cricketers (where we had a nice drink with young Philip Brown) to the bit of the park where they had the fireworks with no real hassle, even though there were hundreds or maybe even thousands in between, we used to old find a gap and go and did some good Michael Schumacher style overtaking!

So, we then found a good watching space and waited in anticipation for the fireworks

We had heard that they were going to be Bond themed but were surprised when a helicopter flew over and a voice over the tannoy said “Moneypenny has been kidnapped, Bond needs to save her” (or something very much like that) and instantly me and Kev feared for the worst that it was gonna suck!

But they instantly saved it…the helicopter landed…”Bond” jumped out and then we thought that was it…NO! There was a massive explosion and then a car got shot up into the air! Very very shocking!

Then on with the fireworks…they were brilliant! In recent years, the fireworks have been good but always a bit of a let down. But this year, they really did excel themselves!

They went through most of the good Bond themes and the fireworks were the mutts!

The bit with the theme from ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ was my personal highlight of the night!

I hope by reading about how great the fireworks were, you all feel very guilty that you weren’t there to have fun with me and Kev.
