When you know you’ve been using myspace too much…

I came to the realisation tonight that I may have become addicted to myspace. There are some signs which have been there for a while, warning me that I was getting to this state- however I ignored them thinking that they may magically disappear. Alas they did not. So here are some signs that myspace has taken over too much of your life…

  • You go out and meet someone that you already recognise and realise that it’s from their myspace profile that you were looking at only a few hours before.
  • You start taking pictures for the sole objective that you can use them on your myspace profile.
  • You check that you haven’t got any new messages 5 minutes after you last checked, which was 2 minutes after you first checked.
  • You convince your friend to add you, even though they have absolutely nothing on their myspace profile - just so that you can get one more friend and look more popular.
  • You have taken the time to make your myspace profile look pretty and have spent at least an hour searching for the background, which says the most about you.
  • When something goes wrong with the site and you can’t get in/look at the bit you want and you feel like your whole day is ruined…

… So I’m going to go and draw up a 5 point plan to how I can get over this addiction. If in the mean time you are bored my profile is www.myspace.com/hayles_c - feel free to have a look and add me if you’re on myspace. If not get on it you’re missing out!

  3. So we all should agree that myspace is truly from the devil and is a cancer on our wonderful society and all should join me in boycotting such sin

  5. Just because you are a lesser internet being Gareth! You’ll never be able to get cyberstalked or recognise all the emo kids wandering about in Ipswich town centre, despite never talking to any of them. I bet you never even bet into keyboard warrior cyber battles of wits with girls boyfriends whose girlfriends art is crap.

    (you haven’t even got a blog…)

There is some truth in what you say. Isn’t myspace owned by Rupert Murdoch?
