Its what we’re all thinking…

Monday, July 31st, 2006

In life there are some questions that we’re all thinking but none of us ask for some reason…

I’d always known of some of them but on Saturday I received an email with loads of em…

So here goes…

  • Can you cry underwater?
  • How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just being murdered?
  • Why does a round pizza come in a square box?
  • How is it that we put a man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  • Why is it that people say they “slept like a baby” when babies wake up like every two hours?
  • If a deaf person goes to court is it still called a hearing?
  • Why are you IN a movie but ON TV?
  • Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
  • Why is “bra” singular yet “pants” is plural?
  • If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?
  • Do “The Alphabet song” and “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” have the same tune? (BULLET POINT - Yes, me and Hayley tried singing them both at the same time and they do have the same tune! Try it yourself!)
  • Why do they call it an asteroid when it’s outside the hemisphere, but call it a haemorrhoid when it’s in your bum?
  • Have you ever noticed that when you blow air into a dog’s face, it gets mad at you, but when a dog is on a car ride, it sticks it’s head out of the window?

Pointless

So Gareth has posted and I though I would as well! Hungary was amazing, and the thought of the lake that we went swimming in everyday kills me as I wish I was back there! It was an incredible opportunity to meet Christians from other countries and share experiences, and Hungary is a lovely country.

This week has been pretty eventful as well! My little brother has left the country and is now on the other side of the world, it was Gareth’s 21st birthday as he has already said and we spent the day at Felixstowe where i got sunburnt! I got a late birthday present yesterday which consisted of a pillow with a picture of me and some of friends on (awesome!) and I sit here writing covered in yellow and white paint after painting Sians room! O the fun!!

So that was the most pointless post I have written up to this point (feel free to disagree with me) but I wanted to write something and told Paul that I would!

The week that was

Sorry for the long delay in posting, I hope it hasn’t caused too much pain in your lives.

But don’t worry for I am back from Hungary!

I was debating on whether to post loads and loads about Hungary but you know what? I can’t be bothered to so if you want to hear about it I’m sure I’ll tell you in the pub if I know you!

But forgetting Hungary for a moment, a even bigger occasion occurred yesterday…my 21st Birthday!!! WOO HOO!!! I want to thank everyone who got me anything…I love all my presents!! Special thanks go to the wonderful group of people that I shared my birthday with!

So now that I am 21 and officially old, I’m now off to find some slippers, a pipe and a comfy chair to have a nap in…

Hungary

Saturday, July 15th, 2006

Tomorrow me and the Hayley leave with a big group of us going to Hungary with CYM (you all know who you are so I’m not going to name check you!) for the International Youth Camp and we are going to have a wicked time!

We will be back soon…in the meantime please feel free to use the wonderful comments thingy to talk random nonsense…BULLET POINT I know that is probably only going to be Paul and maybe Phil Brown!

Goodbye, See you all soon!

HUNGARY BABY!!! WOO HOO!!!

We could have been anything that we wanted to be

Friday, July 14th, 2006

Yesterday was a sad day. It was the last day that Dave Hannah spent in the CYM office as a paid member of staff. Goodbye Dave and God Bless.

Also, it was Hayley’s “last” day in the office as well…I say “last” day like that because it is so not her last day…she still has work to do and we still need to re-decorate our office. (Basically that means that we need to paint over all of my graffiti on the wall e.g. Hayley smells, so does Gareth is written on the wall)

But on that sad day there was some good moments too so I thought I’d tell you about them…

As with most Thursdays I went to Thurleston C.U (thats Christian Union) and we had a fun good time there…but on the way back on the bus me and the ginger ninja were talking about what we wanted to be when we was kids…so here is my top five jobs (in no particular order) that I wanted to be when I was a kid.

  1. Market seller (one of the guys selling veg on Ipswich market)
  2. Professional Footballer (still would like to be one!)
  3. Fireman (stopped wanting to be one when realised how dangerous it was and that it wasn’t like Fireman Sam)
  4. Superhero
  5. Pub Landlord

Feel free to use the wonderful comments bit to give us your top five

Last Week in the Office…

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

As I write this it is my last ever Tuesday afternoon working for CYM. It’s very sad but very true. I write this because Gareth isn’t here and to be honest I’m a bit bored. I’m coming to the realisation that I have a long summer ahead of me and apart from the odd week away not much to do. So I have a plea to all of you out there for any suggestions that you have to what I can do with my time over the long warm days, and of corse I won’t want to be by myself so you are more than welcome to join me in my adventures!

O the fun of a Birthday!

Saturday, July 8th, 2006

So the 6th July arrived and with it a very excited Hayley Cornwell as it was her 19th Birthday! The night before much fun was had as we celebrated in style, by that i mean we swam in the Felixstowe sea, played in the arcades and ate food (dodgy food) from Kebab shop.

My actual Birthday was spent up at Sizewell, and i had a great day. In the evening we sat round the camp fire having light hearted conversations about church and church membership and opened presents. I now own David Tennent if any of you are wondering where he’s gone he’s sitting in my room, he’s a bit smaller in real life (I’m taller than him) and he doesn’t say much, but he’s there all the same! So there was my rather exciting birthday for you, it doesnt feel very different this 19 lark, but im sure it will sometime soon.

Happy Birthday to Rhi and Kim who’s birthdays were on 4th July by the way!!

Change of heart

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

I may not have said but earlier in the summer I decided that I wouldn’t post about the World Cup whilst it was going on and I also decided not to post about Big Brother…

so far I have achieved both…

but I couldn’t let something or someone go without me posting about them…

This person through the course of the World Cup has completely changed my opinion of them and for me to change my mind takes a lot…

This person is Owen Hargreaves

Yeah, I know, Owen Hargreaves! I have made as many if not more jokes about Owen Hargreaves than anyone else but throughout England’s games this World Cup I think he was our strongest player who played his socks off, he chased every ball and worked harder than Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard combined!

So I would like to take this opportunity to say Owen Hargreaves you have been my England player of the tournament and you have earned my respect!
