First sign of madness

The first sign of madness is Sven-Goran Eriksson picking Theo Walcott for the England World Cup squad ahead of Jermain Defoe and Darren Bent

So, here are your options Sven…

Theo Walcott

  • 17 years old
  • 12 million pounds signing for Arsenal from Southampton
  • Never played a Premiership game
  • Never played for England before

Jermain Defoe

  • 23 years old
  • 7 million pounds signing for Tottenham from West Ham
  • 9 goals in the Premiership this season
  • 16 England Caps, 1 goal

 Darren Bent

  • 22 years old
  • 2.7 million pounds signing for Charlton from Ipswich
  • 18 goals in the Premiership this season
  • Highest English goalscorer in Premiership this season
  • 1 England Cap, No goals as yet

So why oh why would Sven pick Theo Walcott ahead of Bent and Defoe!

Don’t even get me started on Owen Hargreaves getting picked!

He really has lost it!

  1. NO: Green (Norwich), Jenas (Tottenham), Downing (Middlesbrough), Johnson (Crystal Palace), Walcott (Arsenal).

Should be going: SWP (Chelski), Darren Bent (Matisyahu), Carson (Man U).

  7. Sven is JOKE!!

Hargreaves, Jenas, Walcott, Green n Crouch all bad choices!

    Should have taken:
    SWP, Bent, Defoe, Kirkland, Parker!

Sven has truly lost the plot!

  9. Hargeaves has held down a position alongside ballack in a domestic double winning Bayern Munich side.

Crouch is a fine choice, he’s a good plan B after Rooney and Owen.

Kirkland and Parker are both injured.

Fowler is in much better form than Defoe.

SWP is a better choice than Walcott, and Bent is the top soring english striker.

  11. But Hargreaves is still crap! He’s been rubbish whenever he has played for England

Even if Kirkland was fit he shouldn’t go but then again Green is just as bad

Says it all that we don’t even mind David James!

Fowler’s past it at international level

Kevin Nolan and Nigel Reo-Coker should be on the plane instead of Jenas and Hargreaves

  13. Hargreaves has had a season equivalent to Cesc Fabregas, He’s been brilliant in Germany by all accounts. Also, He’ll not be at home in Germany.

It should have been Carson of Livepool instead of Green, sorry.

The other thing about Fowler is that he has played with Crouch.

  15. For England’s sake I hope he’s good!

At least Green has played this season I suppose…which is more than Carson

At least we’re not taking Phil Neville or Heskey!
